Is it true that federal and state courts may have concurrent jurisdiction over a case?

I dint know. I dint care too...Is it true that federal and state courts may have concurrent jurisdiction over a case?
Yep ... but the lawsuit can only be filed in ONE or the OTHER. If a Plaintiff files in state court (for example), a defendant can remove the lawsuit to federal court ... if they want.

Civil rights actions under 42 USC 1983 are a prime example....
