I have this lawyer and when i call him he sounds very agressive. Im his client, And he has not once stood up for me. He is like 63 years old and has been in law for years. I find him almost fighting me in his tone of voice. And the fact he just tells me to do what ever the prosecutor wants. I feel like im traped and dont want to fire him or get a public defender. What could I say to mabey make him treat me as if I was his son or a relative? Im 22 years old and Im facing serious charges. Its in a federal court sytem not state. and the charge is conspiracy. He acts as if he doesnt care. And seems to be caught up with many clients and trials. WHAT CAN I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lawyer help on a federal case
He's not your dad, he's not your relative. He's your lawyer. He is not there to make you feel warm and fuzzy.
But if you think he is too busy and is not representing you well, fire him. Why wouldn't you want to? You don't get along with him and you don't have confidence in him.
Fire him and get a lawyer you can work with.
Lawyer help on a federal case
A public defender is usually overworked but will genuinely try to assist, this paid lawyer doesnt seem to appreciate your concerns or welfare. You need to be upfront and ask himif he is prepared to fight on your behalf and if he hesitates or tries to bluff his way out of it be firm and state you dont feel he has your best interests at heart, offer to have another partner take over the case if its to much as the only alternative I can think of is a new lawyer.
get another lawyer,he represents you and should do his best,if you feel that is not the case you have your rights to find another.
He doesn't care-he's gonna get paid if you go to jail or not. You aren't his son so why should he care? Welcome to reality.
